Musandam Governor’s Office inks an agreement with Oman Data Park to provide cloud services and hosting services

 Muscat – Sunday 22/01/2023: To take part in the government digital transformation within the pursuit of the Governorate to keep pace with the technological developments, the Musandam Governor’s Office has signed on (Sunday) a cooperation agreement with Oman Data Park (ODP), to utilize the company’s cloud services in hosting the governorate data center.

In accordance with the inked agreement between the two parties, Oman Data Park will create and host the domain name and e-mails IDs for the   Governorate of Musandam, where ODP will set an official electronic address for the Governorate of Musandam to be used by visitors and beneficiaries of electronic services of the Governorate.

ODP will also create an e-mail ID for each employee in the governorate that allows them to communicate with each other and with others. It will also assure the safe hosting of the Governorate’s data and provide continuous technical support to raise the efficiency and effectiveness of government work as well as assuring the smooth running of its transactions.

Oman Data Part takes part in the Regional Cybersecurity Week

Muscat, November 2022: Oman Data Park (ODP), the Sultanate’s first IT-managed and cloud services provider, takes part  in the  Regional Cybersecurity Week ,which held simultaneously with the 10th Regional Cybersecurity Drill for Arab States and Member States in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

 Oman Data Park  was the Golden sponsor of this  two-day event ,that  organized by the Arab Regional Cybersecurity Centre in cooperation , with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, under the theme  of “Overview of Rapidly Developing Cybersecurity Threats”.  

The  Regional Cybersecurity Week in which about  400 specialists from 45 countries have taken part , aimed at  at enhancing communication and honing the skills of cyber-emergency response teams.

The drill includes a simulation of four scenarios developed by the Arab Regional Cybersecurity Centre and the International Telecommunication Union.This drill is tailored for national centres for cybersecurity and info-emergency, as well as cybersecurity teams at vital establishments in Arab countries and OIC centres.

Muscat, November 2022: Oman Data Park signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Omani-British company “Crossword Cybersecurity”, to provide services that contribute to reduce cyber security risk for public and private entities and enhance the protection of the cyber security structure of sensitive information in the Sultanate of Oman

The agreement aims at adding more security measures to secure the data hosting process for the institutions and companies, enhance its protection from the danger of third parties such as suppliers and other parties, and ascertain funding sources, verifying suspicions of money laundering .

The agreement was signed by Eng. Maqbool Al-Wahaibi, CEO of Oman Data Park (ODP) and Stuart Jubb , the group  managing director of  Crossword Cybersecurity.

Zanzibar government signs an MoU with Oman Data Park to set up a data center

Muscat, October 2022: Maqbool Al-Wahaibi: The Zanzibar government chooses ODP as a strategic partner in the technical fields.

The Government of Zanzibar signed a memorandum of understanding with Oman Data Park to establish, manage and operate a data centre in Zanzibar. This MoU was inked on the sidelines of the official visit of His Excellency Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi, President of Zanzibar, to the Sultanate of Oman.

The signing of this agreement followed the success of the first agreement between the government of Zanzibar and Oman Data Park Company last April, in accordance with it, ODP set up a cloud bidding system in Zanzibar.

 This latest agreement is considered as a qualitative addition to the achievements of Oman Data Park, which contributed throughout its journey in providing integrated solutions under one roof  in the field of cloud managed services, data hosting, cyber security, and providing advanced options in the field of web hosting.

The setting of the cloud bidding system and the signing of the data center agreement come within the framework of the Zanzibar government’s plans to automate its attrition systems and transfer toward e-government, while this partnership embodies the successes achieved by Oman Data Park in the areas of cloud systems in and abroad of the Sultanate of Oman.

 The setting, managing and operating of data center in Zanzibar aim at hosting data and information for the public and private sectors inside Zanzibar, in order to enhance information security and maintaining its confidentiality within Zanzibar.

Al-Awfi patronages the 10th anniversary of Oman Data Park, The decade of ODP contributes to accelerate the digital transformation In the Sultanate of Oman

Under the patronage of His Excellency Engineer Salem bin Nasser Al-Awfi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, Oman Data Park (ODP), the Sultanate’s primer provider of IT-managed and cloud services, Hosting, and Virtual Data Center services, since 2012, celebrated its 10th Anniversary.

In coinciding with the celebration of the company’s tenth anniversary, Oman Data Park signed two agreements in the field of providing its services to its customers, the first agreement is with Omantel, under which ODP will set up a new data center for Omantel.

The second agreement is with Schlumberger, the world’s leading provider of technology and services to the energy industry; where Oman Data Park and Schlumberger announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide a framework under which the parties can collaborate on Digital cloud-based solutions.

The Parties envision that Schlumberger’s collaboration and involvement will consist of working with Oman Data Park to leverage and utilize Oman Data Park infrastructure to deploy the DELFI* Digital Drilling Solution and the opportunity of deploying Schlumberger artificial intelligence solutions on the Oman Data Park cloud infrastructure to enable access for the Energy industry and other relevant industries in Oman.

10th anniversary of Oman

The inking of these agreements is considered a practical celebration of the ongoing successes of Oman Data Park, which has become a prominent beacon that is relied upon in various fields of IT technologies, hosting services, and managed services.
