This year marks a major milestone for Oman Data Park as we celebrate our 10th Anniversary and a decade of leading technology and data in the Sultanate of Oman. With remarkable advancement in the use of data science and cloud infrastructure in our first 10 years, we aspire to achieve a leading position in the digital economy of the Sultanate. We at ODP are determined to explore the opportunities, challenges, and impact that technology can have to serve humanity. On our journey towards the future, we continue to provide you with the latest technologies in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

Celebrating 10 years of success and progress – together.
To celebrate the milestone anniversary, a grand event was organized at Oman Convention and Exhibition Center with a digital world theme. An array of advanced technology and state-of-the-art solutions were showcased alongside other innovative offerings. The event witnessed the congregation of the most important personalities of the country such as members of the royal family, ministers of the sectors of interest, as well as the business leaders and dignitaries who are driving the country’s business and economy and are instrumental in the nation building process.

Al Wahaibi added: The past ten years of ODP witnessed subtle development for the company, where it achieved massive booms in all its services provided to its entire customers, while ODP operates Oman’s only Virtual Data Center – Nebula and, is the first MSSP in man to offer Microsoft Azure Stack services. It is the only provider that has a specialized Cyber Security Park, which is run by highly qualified Omani staff offering security operations and services around the clock”
The anniversary event was also accompanied by special offers for our esteemed customers. What’s even more gratifying is that ODP has signed two premium agreements to improve infrastructure and technological services both in telecommunications and in the energy and oil sectors. In line with the first agreement, ODP will set up a new data center for Omantel. As per the second agreement with Schlumberger, ODP will provide specialized services related to the fields of work of the two companies. The inking of these agreements reflects a pragmatic celebration of the ongoing successes of Oman Data Park. It reinforces the future vision of the two parties on enabling technology to serve the national economy in line with Oman’s vision for 2040, which stresses the need to provide technical solutions that contribute to localizing the technology in the Sultanate.
Looking back at the ten years
To celebrate this milestone, let us look back at some of our biggest moments over the years.
2012: Launched a Tier 3 Data Centre in Wattayah, as part of our efforts to enhance IT-managed services and solutions. This milestone contributed towards strengthening our position in the Sultanate as a frontrunner in cloud services.
2013: Marked the opening of our Tier 3 Data Centre in Knowledge Oasis Muscat to further promote our diverse set of services and cater to our growing portfolio of customers. Through this launch, we doubled our efforts towards spearheading our customers’ business into the future, allowing them to focus more on their core business activities.
2014: Launched SAP B1 on Cloud to integrate our customers’ businesses and streamline their operations, as well as enhance ERP solutions for the future. The service also sought to minimize ongoing IT overhead by moving to a cloud provider.
2018: As part of our efforts to enhance our position as a premier ICT provider in Oman and align with our expansion plans, we opened our Tier 3 Data Center in Duqm. This step was also aimed to provide various information technology (IT) services under a single integrated facility.
2019: Launched the Nebula Virtual Server to keep pace with modern business needs to provide solutions that are agile, efficient and enable faster deployment. Moreover, with our ISO and PCI DSS certifications, we renewed our continued commitment towards data security and shed light on the extent we go to value our customer’s privacy.
2020: Given the unprecedented circumstances affecting countries worldwide, there was a rapid demand for more technologically advanced services as organizations and businesses moved into the digital sphere.
2021: To contribute towards improving productivity in Oman’s economic sectors, we launched Nebula AI in 2021. This effort also stemmed from our position as a key pillar to promote technological transformation and support the nation in its first steps to enter the world of AI, via innovative solutions to drive growth and progress.
The ten years of Oman Data Park have been full of glorious achievements that have contributed to pushing forward the digital transformation in the Sultanate of Oman. With the first and only High-Performance Computing (HPC) platform – Nebula HPC – in the country, ODP has successfully enhanced the capabilities of the Sultanate of Oman in accessing global Artificial Intelligence technologies (AI).
While taking the lead in establishing the Cyber Security Park, ODP provides effective smart security solutions to reduce cyber attacks. Meanwhile, its unremitting efforts have contributed to delivering specialized capabilities to host and store data inside the Sultanate of Oman instead of storing it abroad.
As an added value for its ten-year march, Oman Data Park also played a pioneering role in launching Oracle’s Hyper-Scale Cloud Infrastructure Data Center as the first Oracle cloud region in the Sultanate of Oman. The Cloud Region (OCI) provides a broad range of Cloud Services for all entities in the public and private sectors, across the Sultanate of Oman, through ODP certified Tier III Data Centers.

Along with the NVIDIA Partner Network (NPN) Cloud Service Provider Partner Programme, Oman Data Park (ODP), launched the Nebula AI platform, the first-of-its kind in Oman. It comes in line with Oman’s vision for 2040 and to keep pace with the latest technological developments in the field of computing, compatible with the requirements of the fourth industrial revolution and AI.
Nebula AI significantly helps enhance the productivity of the targeted sectors such as financial services, logistics, and oil and gas for economic diversification, improve the human resources capabilities in AI, adopt AI applications in different sectors, and govern AI applications and advanced technologies in accordance with a human-centred vision.
Our partnership with NVIDIA enables the government as well as private entities in Oman to avail the world’s best processing equipment and technologies in the field of AI. Oman now has the best Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning capabilities online and hosted in Oman and ODP can tailor the required AI applications for different verticals. Furthermore, these technologies are available on an OPEX model enabling cost-effective implementation for the entity, and ODP also offers plug and play AI solutions for many verticals.
It’s no mean feat that the Sultanate has advanced 11 positions in the government’s readiness index for implementing AI in 2020, while it ranked 48th globally and sixth in the Middle East, according to the Oxford Insight Index. According to PWC research, AI is estimated to contribute around $15.7 trillion globally by 2030, while the Middle East is estimated to accrue 2 percent of the total global benefits of AI in 2030, which is equivalent to $320 billion. It gives us great pleasure to be at the forefront to provide an AI platform, which can accelerate the utilization of AI in various economic fields in Oman.
We have to make the future about high performance. We have to make it about driving best practices and continuous improvement. Needless to say, there will be some new products and services on the table in the near future but AI will be our prime focus. Also, the capabilities of Nebula AI will be extended to different sectors and help them grow closer to their customers. While keeping pace with the requirements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and creating wider horizons for utilizing modern technologies in various fields of business, Oman Data Park is committed to building innovative products and services in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Cloud and Colocation Services, Managed Security and Managed Infrastructure Services.
